CUT FLOWER CARE 101

5 EASY TIPS FOR LONGER LASTING CUT FLOWERS

1.Never keep flowers out of water:
Bring flowers straight home or put them in a vase with water during transport. Never let them run out of water in a vase. Fresh flowers drink a lot of water!
2. Use extremely clean vases:
Clean vases thoroughly with soap and water and disinfect (with bleach) before each use. It should be clean enough to drink out of, flowers need clean water just like we do. Glass, plastic, or ceramic vases work best (avoid metal). Don't skip this step- it makes a HUGE difference!
3.Remove all foliage below the water line & trim stems:
Give the stems a quick snip with a sharp snips (crushed stems don't drink well) about a half inch or so, daily and plunge immediately into cool water. Remove any leaves and extra foliage, as the first few flowers start to fade remove them, so your arrangement looks fresh longer, vase life varies by flower type, some last up to 2 weeks others only several days.
4:Store flowers in a cool place out of direct sunlight:
They love shady spots! If possible, also keep them away from ripening fruits and vegetables.
5. Re-trim the stems and change the water DAILY:
(or at least every other day.) Sanitize the vases daily if you REALLY want your flowers to last!
6: Last but not least:
ENJOY YOUR BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS!
